So This Does Really Happen
A really good friend of the family was at Walmart yesterday and someone actually paid for her items and proceeded to pay for other people's items as well. She was giving the cashier her money when a gentleman told the cashier to give her her money back and then swiped his card. She broke down in tears as I think almost anyone would have. They then watched him go up to a young couple and do the same for them. This secret Santa, as he called himself, and wife apparently did this for several as they carefully watched the people on the different check out lines and it seemed as if they were looking for people with several baby items.
It warms my heart to know that there are still some good people out there. They were dressed in their designer clothes and I was told that if you saw them and didn't know what they were doing that they would have appeared snotty and stuck up. Goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover. Hearing this story made me tear up and it had nothing to do with me directly but it let me know that this really does happen and people paying for other people's items at Christmas time isn't some urban legend.
Hearing this story also made me want to pay it forward. This year is a little tight but I would like to save some money for next year and even if I could just pay one person's layaway it would make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And maybe it would make them want to pay it forward and together we can all keep spreading kindness. With so much negativity in the news right now a little love can go a long way. xoxo
Aw, I love stories like this! There are good people. I hope your friend pays it forward in some way!
ReplyDeleteI like hearing about stuff like this too. There is so much evil in the world. All you have to do is watch the news to know that. I like knowing that there are genuinely good people out there.
