Visit Me Saturday!

My next three days will consist of pumping out as much jewelry and tutus as humanly possible. The reason for this is because I will be vending at two different events this Saturday June 9th.  You can visit me at the Lake Grove indoor/outdoor craft fair at Lake Grove Village Hall. The fair is between 10am-4pm and my jewelry will be available at this event. I will have all new summer designs with me. My table will be indoors and I hope that you will stop by and say hi!  That evening you can visit my table at the Long Island Roller Rebels Summer Smackdown. I will be selling my tutus and jewelry here. This is always a fun event. Roller derby, beer, food and great vendors. What can be better?! Make sure you buy your tix today! Info below..

Photoshoot With Ashley!

I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful and talented Ashley Laderer today. She helped me get some amazing photos of two of my tutus and some of my jewelry. This was my third photoshoot with Ashley and we get fabulous images every time and today was certainly no exception. We shot on the water on the north shore in the beautiful Oyster Bay Cove and we had a beautiful day for it. We walked around the whole park and managed to get a good variety of photos. Here are just a few of today's images. There are so many more that I am going through so I am sure I will have a second post about this shoot to display more of the fun photos from the day.
Every heart beats true for the red, white and blue....
Wish I could rock this red like she does!

Now it's time to get connected. You can become a fan of Ashley's Facebook page here. You can also follow her blog, fashion unicorn here. You can order the tutus seen in this post on my Etsy site: Oh So Pretty Designs. The necklace will be available on my jewelry Etsy site: Hole In Her Stocking, in a few days. Please note: my jewelry site has not yet been updated. There will be a lot more inventory updated in the next few days.
Surely a fave from the day! The water nymph!
Love working with this girl...

Multi Strand Shamballa Style Class

Getting ready to hit the road on this gorgeous day
On Friday I went to a multi strand shamballa style bracelet making class at Island Bead and Jewelry in Eastport, NY. I had previously taken a shamballa style bracelet making class there and have been making the bracelets ever since for friends and family. I was excited to learn a new variation of the bracelet everyone loves so much. I arrived early for the class to pick out the beads I wanted to use. I decided to go with pinks and whites for the summer months.
My supplies
Because I had taken a similar class previously I caught onto the technique quite quickly. I was also lucky enough to be the only one taking the class that day so I had a great one on one lesson. I was a bit disappointed that after working on the bracelet for a little over an hour it ended up being too small for my wrist. We under-estimated the length but it came out nice so I plan to give it as a gift. The good news is that I was able to go home and replicate what we did and I made the same bracelet in my size. So the class served it's purpose.

All in all I enjoyed the class and now have an awesome new bracelet that I can make. I plan on hitting up the bead stores soon to pick out some new color combinations. My head is full of ideas. If you are interested in taking a class at Island Bead you can see their class schedule on their website at: www.islandbeadandjewelry.com . It's definitely a nice fun summer activity!!

Peacock Tutu!

Love these colors!

I had been wanting to make a peacock themed tutu and finally did once I received a customer request.  I anticipate this tutu doing well especially when it gets closer to Halloween.  I think a peacock would definitely be a fun and trendy costume. I definitely want to have a bunch of costume themed tutus for Halloween this season. It seems far off but I want to have several designs and be well stocked. Time to get to work! ;)

Pink and Glitter!

One of my favorite things to make is big circle earrings out of colorful polymer clay. The possibilities are endless for these fun earrings. I make a lot of these but here is a pair I created the other day. I love hot pink for the season and I think it pairs nicely with the silver. The silver clay has glitter in it and it sparkles beautifully in the sun! I can't wait to rock these!
Rock out with these!

Bow Bracelet, Attempt 1

So I had this idea to create a 3 dimensional bow bracelet. I am totally exited about this design. For a first try I am satisfied with the outcome. I definitely have some tweaking to do but at least I know what has to be fixed. I don't like the way the three accent lines came out on each side so I think I am going to eliminate them next time around. My next bow is going to be bright colors with white cord. Totally excited to do this! I hope to have a new post with the updated version for you guys soon.

Buried In Tulle!

I'm under here somewhere!

I needed to take a break from my tutu making because my fingers were starting to get sore from knotting tulle. I have had a lot of adult tutu orders to fill and I am finally almost all caught up. I got one more adult order to make and then I can move on to the baby orders I have to fill which will be a nice change. They will get made quite quickly since they are so much smaller. Ahhhh.... A sigh of relief. Lol. I enjoy making these tutus but I have so many ideas I want to do but can't seem to get caught up on my Etsy orders, which isn't a bad thing. I had been thinking of creating a peacock inspired tutu and I actually just had a request for a custom order peacock tutu. I am glad I will finally get to create this vision. Below are the colors I was thinking about using. What do you think?

Neon Beaded Bracelets!

Can't wait to rock this at the beach!
As I previously mentioned I have two Etsy shops. I already told you about my tutu shop but I also have a jewelry shop, www.holeinherstocking.etsy.com . I am expanding the types of jewelry I make but I make a lot of clay beads and use these to make some pretty awesome and funky pieces. You can imagine how super excited I am that neon is a big staple in this summer's fashion so I am creating a Neon Swirl collection for the season. Items like the bracelet above will be a part of this collection. I hand made the beads and am looking forward to creating some pretty amazing stuff for this summer. Stay posted for what's to come!!!

Happy 3 Months Olivia!!

Just have to give a small shout out to my daughter Olivia on her 3 month birthday!! =)

Oh So Pretty Designs

Time to give a shout out to one of my Etsy sites, www.ohsoprettydesigns.etsy.com . This is where you can order custom tutus for babies, children, teens and adults. I have several tutus featured but you can order custom tutus with colors of your choice and in whatever size needed. I have to admit I am quite surprised that the bulk of my tutu sales have actually been for adults, ordering for parades, marathons and other events.  I figured that most f my sales would consist of baby tutus but then again, I suppose there are several sites that offer baby tutus but not as many that offer adult tutus.  Well, if you or anyone you know needs a tutu, tell them to contact me! ;)

The Point and Purpose

Hello and welcome to my blog!!! My name is Jenny I am super excited to share my journey with you!! I like to call myself a mini entrepreneur. I have four, yes four businesses, all moderately successful but I need to consolidate everything into one to be extremely successful. Plus I am a new mommy so streamlining is a must. I am a photographer, makeup artist and have a custom tutu Etsy shop as well as designing and selling jewelry. I believe that the common denominator in all that I do is fashion. So this brings me to my ultimate goal, to be a successful fashion designer with my own boutique. This boutique will predominantly have all my clothing and accessory designs but I would also like to feature an up and coming designer each month. I will be 31 in a few months so I would like to achieve my ultimate goal by the time I am 35. I know I am taking on a hefty load but sometimes you just need to hit the ground running and my motto is: "Reach for the moon because even if you miss you'll be among stars." Now I just need to take on as many classes as I can in sewing and jewelry making. I have tons of ideas but it's just a matter of learning how to execute them. As I am busy learning I am going to continue on trying to make my Etsy shops as successful as possible and save the money from them towards opening my own boutique. And I can utilize my photography and makeup skills to create some awesome photoshoots to show off what I do without having to pay someone to do it. Well, I hope you will follow me on my journey of doing everything I believe it will take to become successful in the wonderful world of fashion.
